Guide 1 · Website planning

How to plan a business website that brings enquiries

Before design or code, get the plan right. This guide walks you through goals, pages, content and features so your website is built around what customers need.

Calls, WhatsApp chats, enquiry forms, store visits or online sales? Pick the main action — every page should lead to it.

Write down who they are, what they search on Google and the questions they ask before buying. Your pages should answer those questions.

Most businesses need Home, About, one page per service, Gallery/Work, Reviews, FAQ and Contact. One service per page ranks better on Google than one long page.

Business details, service descriptions, prices or starting prices, real photos of your work, team and premises, logo and reviews. Real photos build far more trust than stock images.

A short .com or .in domain, reliable hosting with SSL, and a professional email like info@yourbusiness.com.

WordPress + Elementor for easy editing, WooCommerce or Shopify for online stores, custom code for unique features.

Click-to-call, WhatsApp button, short enquiry form, Google Map, reviews and certifications on every important page.

Google Analytics 4, Search Console and conversion tracking — so you know where enquiries come from from day one.

Guide 2 · Local SEO

Local SEO & Google Business Profile guide

Show up in Google Maps and “near me” searches in your city. Follow these steps to set up and grow your Google Business Profile and local rankings.

Search your business on Google Maps or go to business.google.com, claim the listing and complete verification.

The primary category has a big impact on which searches you appear for. Add relevant secondary categories too.

Use exactly the same business name, address and phone number on your website, Google profile, Justdial, Facebook and other listings.

Upload real photos of your shop, team, work and products. Add new ones every month.

Share your review link on WhatsApp after each sale or service, and reply politely to every review — good or bad.

Use Google Posts for offers, events and new services. It keeps the profile active.

If you serve several areas or cities, create a helpful page for each with local details — not copy-paste text.

Check the Performance section of your profile monthly to see calls, website clicks and direction requests.

Guide 3 · SEO

On-page SEO checklist for every page

A practical checklist to run on every page before you publish — titles, headings, content, images and internal links.

Choose the main search phrase the page should rank for, such as “dental clinic in Agra”, and a few close variations.

Up to about 60 characters, keyword near the start, brand at the end. Use our free Meta Tag Generator to preview it.

Up to about 160 characters that explain the page and give a reason to click.

The H1 states what the page is about; H2s break the content into sections customers scan.

Answer real questions in detail. Add prices or ranges, process, FAQs and examples — thin pages rarely rank.

Compress images (WebP), use descriptive file names and add alt text that describes the image.

Link to related services, guides and the contact page with descriptive link text.

Open the page on your phone and run it through Google PageSpeed Insights before publishing.

Guide 5 · Meta Ads

Meta Ads lead generation guide (Facebook & Instagram)

Generate quality leads from Facebook and Instagram with the right objective, audience, creative and follow-up process.

So Meta can measure leads and optimise delivery to people likely to enquire.

Use Instant Forms, click-to-WhatsApp or a landing page depending on how you want to receive enquiries.

A free consultation, site visit, demo class or limited-time price works better than a general brand message.

Set location, age and language; let Meta’s delivery find buyers instead of stacking many narrow interests.

UGC-style videos, before/after results and customer testimonials usually outperform polished graphics.

One or two questions such as budget or timeline improve lead quality.

Speed of follow-up has a huge effect on conversions. Send leads straight to email, WhatsApp or a CRM.

Guide 6 · E-commerce

Launching a WooCommerce store in India

Everything to set up before your online store goes live — payments, shipping, GST, policies and product pages.

Add a payment gateway such as Razorpay, Cashfree or PayU for UPI, cards and netbanking, and decide whether to offer COD.

Set shipping zones and rates; integrate a courier aggregator like Shiprocket for pickups and tracking.

Set tax classes and generate GST-compliant invoices. Confirm the details with your CA.

Clear photos from several angles, size or spec details, price, delivery time and reviews.

Shipping, returns and refunds, privacy and terms pages — payment gateways usually require them.

Place real test orders on mobile with UPI, card and COD, and check emails and invoices.

Follow up by email or WhatsApp with people who added products but didn’t buy.

Set up GA4 e-commerce events and Meta/Google conversion tracking before running ads.

Guide 7 · Speed & security

Website speed & security checklist

Keep your website fast and safe. A checklist to run when launching and every few months after.

Choose reliable hosting, enable HTTPS and force all pages to load over https.

Upload WebP images around 1200px wide instead of large camera photos. Try our free Image Compressor.

Use a caching plugin or server cache, and a CDN such as Cloudflare if your audience is spread out.

Every extra plugin adds weight and possible security holes.

Update WordPress, themes and plugins regularly — after taking a backup.

Strong unique passwords, two-factor authentication for admins and a limit on login attempts.

Daily or weekly backups stored outside your hosting account. Test that you can restore one.

Use an uptime monitor so you know quickly if the website goes down.

Guide 8 · WordPress

Monthly WordPress maintenance checklist

A simple monthly routine that keeps a WordPress website secure, fast and error-free.

Files and database, before you change anything.

Update one by one and check the site after each important update.

Submit your contact form and, for stores, place a test order to confirm emails arrive.

Look for failed logins, unknown admin users and security plugin warnings.

Delete spam comments, old post revisions and unused media.

Run PageSpeed Insights and fix broken links reported in Search Console.

Check indexing issues, Core Web Vitals and which searches bring visitors.
